Bunny boy

This is a new illustration I did for the upcoming exhibition in Belgrade. It's a group exhibition featuring works of a female street artists. Past few days I'm all into doing some new personal illustrations, since I didn't have time for myself, all it was some commercial stuff I did so this is quite a nice period for me.

When she was a kid

For this drawing, I was inspired by my mom's photo when she was a kid. She was happy on that photo, but I draw her her a little bit melancholic here, because I remember when I was a kid I said to her, Mom you have those sad puppy eyes. She laughed very much :)

Hello guys! I hope you're having a great summer. I just got back from a holiday trip and my minds are still there, beside sea.. I will post some photos from our trip, soon. 'Till then, here's new drawings, paper on paper. 

New Mural

A couple days ago, my friend Stefan Ciric aka DROP and I created new mural in Belgrade. Mural is located in Inex Film, a squat in Belgrade. I can't remember the last time I did a mural that wasn't commissioned and it was so fun. Also, its always nice to combine styles and collaborate with other artist. Lizard - Mermaid Renaissance ;)

New paintings and something more

Here's two more paintings from the ongoing series. I'm totally into these atmosphere of whiteness with intensive color accents and winterish feeling that I'm getting while I create. I'm currently working on some more abstract paintings and I'm glad that it comes quite naturally. It's nice when you wake up and your canvases and paints wait for you. Beside that, I'm preparing new songs with my band for the upcoming tour. I really hope that we will soon record something new.

Paintings

Last December, I have visited my friend in Kragujevac. She has lovely studio and she asked me to come visit her there, so we can paint together, listen to nice music and drink chocolate coffee. Her name is Maja Mrdakovic and you can see her work on her Behance page. She is  my college friend by the way and I really love her energy and positivism, so I had wonderful time in her studio. Unfortunately, I stayed there a couple of days, but it was very productive.
In these paintings, I've tried to connect same style and color palette like I have in my drawings. It's actually one big series of my thoughts and feelings presented through drawings and paintings. I really enjoy doing miniature objects and I specially love that particular process when semi-realistic objects naturally turn abstract. I don't paint with oil colors anymore, I prefer acrylics, specially because they are more suitable for what I want to paint.

New drawing

New drawing from the series of drawings and paintings I'm doing at the moment. Last nigh I did some art work for our upcoming tour, and it was a digital illustration. It was a long time since I did something with my tablet, but I cannot complain. I really enjoy drawing and painting again. The pause was really long between those two. Beside that, I can't wait spring/summer time. It's always fun doing some street art outside. ( sorry for the blurry photos, but my camera just doesn't listen :P )

Sunday

Today is all about making some sketches for new drawings and for the flayer for our upcoming mini tour. As you may know, I play in a band called Replicunts, and we will have a mini Balkan tour with our French colleges Lunch. We will play in Serbia and Romania at the end of February. It will be fun!
Beside that, I'm preparing paintings and drawings for my upcoming exhibition, but I will write more about that in a future posts. 
I found these old brooches forgotten somewhere in the attic boxes. We still didn't bring all our stuff to the new apartment and some of those stuff are still in the boxes. Yes, I'm a bit lazy, but I don't want to make a mess, because I still need shelves and lockers for most of my art things and books. Oh, well, what can you do. 

Happy New Year

Hello boys and girls :) I wish you all a very happy New Year. Sending you a lot of love and positive thoughts. I hope you had lovely holiday time, I know I did. 

I have a lot of plans for the future period and I hope I'll get most of my work done. I promised myself that I will blog more often, since I really enjoy it. Well, I prefer taking and posting photos more than writing, but hey, you need to write line or two, right. Oh, and yes. I really need new better camera. It's becoming more and more frustrating taking pictures with this old one. 
As you can see, I've changed my blog layout (again, I know). I have some kind of issues when it comes to layouts. I'm never quite satisfied about it, and I'm often bored with having some layout. I now that that isn't very important. You need to have nice and interesting posts, that's what bring people around, I know. I hope I will stick to this one a little bit longer. 

New Year's resolutions. I really try not to bother myself with that, since I know that it will be soon forgotten and that I will continue doing same old things as usual, with maybe a few changes, but that's all. I know it sounds terrible and don't get me wrong, but I guess we are always trying to be better versions of ourselves so there's no need of specially point it out at the beginning of the year. 


Maybe I will try to walk more. There :)

Lazy Day

It's been a couple of days since I broke my foot and I must say it's quite annoying. I mean, there's a good things about staying at home, like reading, watching tv shows and movies, great husband who cooks for you and stuff like that. On the other hand, it sucks! I want to go out, have some nice walks with friends, and dance on some good gig.. Oh well, I won't bother you any longer.

• I'm currently watching Homeland, Peaky Blinders, Good wife and Bob's Burgers. Oh and yes, Downton Abbey. What a great new season I must say.
• Reading "America" or "The Man Who Disappeared" by Franz Kafka 
• Doing some T-shirt design for super nice band Young Husbands. You should definitely check them out, if you like post hc/punk screamo sound. I will show you the final design when it's done
• Listening to Lykke Li and Broken Bells
• In love with this Puppy
• When I get on my fit I will definitely prepare this super Chicken Pesto Sandwich . My mom planted a lot of basil, and she brought it to me a couple of days ago, so we are "drowning" in pesto pasta almost every day :)

Ok. I have that thing, starting 10 different projects at the same time, so I don't know what to finish first. Well, this drawing is suffering, I can say that.

Lately on Instagram

On the last photo you can see stairs Tijana and I (Studio Krishka) did a few weeks ago. It represents pattern from Serbian traditional Pirot's carpet. Nova ilustracija, ali nekako jesenja. I tuzna. Takvo mi je i raspolozenje. Plus, ubi me alergija na polen.
Ali da ne dosadjujem, veceras je otvaranje Rish Store-a, divne rucno pravljene cipele iza kojih stoji moja drugarica Natasa Ristic i njena porodica. Detalje o dogadjaju pogledajte ovde. Svratite, ima zaista divnih modela, ne sumnjam da cete se zaljubiti u par.

This new illustration is quite autumn-ish. But I guess I feel that way these days. Plus, my pollen allergy is quite bad. 
Tonight is the Rish Store opening, shoe boutique run by my friend Natasa Ristic and her family. I will show you the photos later on the blog, you will definitely like their hand made shoes. 

Wednesday afternoon and more

Nasi drugari Ivana i Kim su nam prosli vikend doneli jos korejske hrane a danas sam spremala Poja knedle punjene raznoranim sadrzajem, od kupusa koji je glavni sastojak, do soja sosa, jos nekih zacina i sastojaka, ne secam se tacno, ali u svakom slucaju ukusno. 
Prosli petak se, kao sto sam pomenula, odrzala izlozba "Medvedi u cast prolecu" i opet smo imali prilike da vidimo sjajne radove od umetnika iz celog sveta. Pored slika/ilustracija na zidu, na izlozbi su u jednom delu bile smestena lutke medveda, stare, drage igracke sa kojima smo odrastali, pune licnih prica. Jako lep dogadjaj u svakom slucaju, a za vise slika i informacija o umetnicima, posetite sajt Medveda i njhovu Facebook stranicu. Bilo je jako tesko fotkati, jer je guzva ucinila svoje, stoga i nemam bas puno slika, a na jednoj od ovih se nalazi moja drugarica Emilija pored mog rada. Ozbiljna Ema ;)

Pored igrice, na kojoj jos uvek vredno radi ceo tim, ja se zabvaljam sa novom serijom ilustracija. U pitanju su digtialne ilustracije i neke od njih se biti izlozene sledece nedelje, ali pisacu vec o tome. Posle toga, mislim da se bacam malo na papir. Nedostaje mi jako.

Na poslednjoj slici je Nikola, moj muz u nasem stanu, nasem kutku za rad. Jos uvek nismo preneli sve stvari u stan, tako da minimalizam preovladava, ali polako sredjujemo svaki cosak. Svi nas pitaju, kako da jos niste okacili slike, zar ti Barbara, slikar. Okej, imamo jednu sliku za sada i stvarno, najgora sam. Ali prosto zelimo da isplaniramo gde cemo, sta cemo a i hocu da okacim nove slike, pa dok se nakanim da to uradim, nece nista faliti zidovima. Neka malo budu samo beli :)

Last weekend, our friends Ivana and Kim brought us some more Korean food. Today I've prepared steamed Pooja dumplings, mostly stuffed with cabbage and soy sauce. Very nice meal. 
Last Friday I've exhibited my work in the Parobrod's gallery "Bears - in honor of spring", like I said in the last post. It was really nice event with excellent works from artists all around the world. It was really hard to photograph, since it was very crowded so I don't have many photos, but you can see it here and here you can see artists' info. It's my friend Emilija in this photo next to my work. 
Beside video game I'm currently working with my team, I'm also preparing new series of illustrations. Some of them will be exhibited next week, but I will write about it next time. 

My husband Nikola is on a last photo in our creative corner. We still didn't bring all our stuff here, so everything is minimalistic, but we are slowly decorating every corner of our flat. Everybody asks us "Why don't you have paintings on a wall, you are a painter, what's with that?" Yeah, it's true, we only have one drawing I did last year and that's it. But the thing is, I want to hang the new ones, so it takes time and also, I want to plan the order of the paintings carefully.
